Merry Christmas and Have a Happy New Year

This will probably be my last post before Christmas or New Year, so I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I hope everyone enjoys their family and loved ones.  For my family this month has been an awesome month full of love and joy.  Tony's sister came to visit for a day and Gabby got to meet her Auntie Kristina.  Gabby enjoyed her a lot and I really hope that she will be able to come back down to see us (Or Live!!!).
We got to help serve at our Church for kids.  It was fun for me and my husband to set up the food and be able to work together.
Did any of you see the lunar eclipse on Dec. 20th?  I thought it was great.  I just was so tried to finish watching.  I heard it got bright orange.  Below I got a picture before I decided to go to sleep.

I'm so excited for what's in store for the New Year.  I have a start of my resolution and I'm excited and eager to already start on it!
  1. First I would like to work on being a better wife.  Including being a better mother, lover, and child of God.
  2. Better Time Management.
  3. Eliminating distractions in my life.
  4. Eating Better
  5. Bringing Back My Creative Side;)
Well, I'm going to get going...last day to wrap some gifts.  Everyone stay safe, and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Remember the true meaning of CHRISTmas starts with Christ.  Much Love.

Take care and God bless.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for, for all the blessings God has put before me through out this year.  I am thankful for my wonderful family near and far, my wonderful church family, my womans bible study group, and for all the people that have come into my life.
I just recently reminisced with my best friend when I went over her mom's house for Thanksgiving with my mom.  We had a great time and I was thankful to be with my best friend her beautifully just born daughter, her family and my mom.  What a wonderful day!  Now I have a little one and she gets to share thanksgiving with her family.  I am so blessed.  This year we're going over my husbands family house.  My husband is going to make mac and cheese, and I finished my potato salad last night.

(this is before I mixed it)
Welp gotta get going gotta find a store that may be open.  Take care and God Bless.

52 More Days Till Christmas

I can't believe there is only 52 more days till Christmas!!!  I'm so excited this year Gabby will be able to open presants this year and be able to use her pink stocking I bought her last year.

I'm excited about baking this year for Christmas.  I wanted to actually go buy rum balls from a store call Cost Plus World Market.  The only problem is I don't live near one.  So I've decided I'm going to make them on my own.  I found one recipe that I may be interested in using.  If you know of any good recipes please post them here.

Well I gotta get going, today is our bible study night.  Take care and God Bless.

Busy Busy Busy

Realized I've been a lot more busier with Gabby as she enters the toddler stage.  I've been running back and fourth telling her don't touch this and that, or don't put that in your mouth.  It's really amazing how much energy she has, I can hardly keep up!  She is so awesome though, playing drums, playing with her toys and just being so darn cute :)

I'm creating a blog for my Woman's Group which we are currently reading the book of Esther with a Beth Moore study - http://studywithbethmoore.blogspot.com/ (coming soon).  It's been very in lighting all the things they did back in that time period, and lessons to learn from them.  We'll see how this blog goes.

We are currently looking for donations at my church for the Child Care Service.  Their wish list is a kitchenette set and a puzzles for the kids.  So if you would like to donate you can by clicking the donate button below.  I will be updating on how far we are with donations.  Our goal is $150.  You can view the kitchenette sets here that we are wanting to purchase by clicking here.

Hope everyone takes care and God Bless.

Journey

Had a wonderful day with my husband while Gabby spent the day with her grandparents.  It was an adventure we traveled by Miami's transportation starting off for me riding the *trolly* Miami's Metro Rail.

I honestly felt like a tourist taking pictures of the Metro ha ha.  Our first  stop was at Publix on the beach, because we saw the wine collection through the windows.  There was a really wide variety at that store compared to ours.  After that we went to Blissberry off of Alton to get boba *bubble tea*.  I was excited because I hadn't had any for a really long time.  I got a mix of almond and banana, which was surprisingly good. My husband got a kiwi, and strawberry smoothie boba which tasted really GOOD.  It tasted a lot sweeter than mine, and the texture was smoother and richer.
For a snack we went to King Kone a sushi joint off of Alton and got the Dragon Roll.
sorry bad picture *should've opened it* he he.
Very interesting how they had the wasabi and soy sauce already prepared in a dispenser that was too complicated for us to use.
Then we headed towards the beach.  The water felt wonderful.  There was flying fish, and possibly a "dolphin" from what people were screaming about.
After the beach we started walking back to the bus and happened to stop at El Rancho Grande.  My husband keeps raving about the Guacamole so we sat down he went to the restroom, and I sat waiting for him while they offered me chips and dip and I started eating.  The server came back and asked what we would like, and I told him I wanted the guacamole and chips.    So what do they not have?  Exactly!!! No Gauc and chips.  When my husband came back, he thought I was joking about them not having it.  So I was a little upset because I wanted to try it fresh!! :(
Anyways we ended our trip helping a couple I think from Britain find a place to travel while visiting Miami.   They were a really cute couple trying to find a good time.  I really hope they did:)  Well until next time.

1 Year Anniversary

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on the 16th and we had a wonderful time.  We went to eat at Texas de Brazil @ the Dolphin and if you haven't gone you definitely need to.  If you are a meat eater you definitely need to go for it's pretty much all you can eat deliciously made meat from lamb to steak.   They start you off with a salad bar area with all you can eat salad, salami meat, artichoke, palm, and even some sushi.  I was really amazed at all that you get, but most of all shocked at the price!!! It's about $50 a person for the buffet!!!  But we had a wonderful time and it was well worth it.
Image of outside (sorry my phone doesn't take great images)
After Texas De Brazil we went to TGIF to get some drinks and played word dojo (yes we are dorky) But it reminded me of when we first started going out in North Carolina we would go to this Irish Pub that had that machine.

Had to take a bus home a little buzzed :)
Thank you my love for a wonderful evening.  To many more to come.  Thank God for the blessings, and our many learning experiences.  Let us grow old together.

I am A CRIMINAL!!

Went to church on Sunday and listened to great sermon.  It was great to see a family that had recently lost a family member come back.  We prayed for them to give them strength.  But the greatest thing we know that he's in a better place than we are, and by knowing that I know it helped his family cope with the pain of losing him.  As church ended I came across a shirt it said "I Am A Criminal".  It was on the Pastor's daughter's shirt and to see it, made me think twice and ask her what it meant.  At first I thought of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal and then I thought that she was convicted of doing something wrong.  She said yes I am a criminal and I've been convicted by Christ.  I asked to read the front and back of her shirt and it read
"FRONT: (In many countries around the world) I Am A Criminal / I'd be a fugitive hiding from the law, a smuggler, a wanted felon, a convicted outlaw.
BACK: I am a criminal JUST FOR WEARING THIS MESSAGE / The message of cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being save it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18"
Which to me was a great shirt for its meaning!!  Well check it out at this site for more slogans with shirts here - http://www.c28.com/shopping/productdetails.asp?recordid=14107&iadid=RelatedItems
Hope all is well, take care and God Bless.

God is Good All The Time...God is Good

Everything that is happening in our lives has already been plan out by God and to me a lot of times is hard to accept!!  In my head a lot of things pop up from my past and it hits me hard why did I go through that and I could have changed this or that.  But I have to remember what's in the PAST is the PAST.  God wants me to learn from it and move forward, and hopefully not let it happen again.  The other day we went to an out reach in an unfamiliar place and it was great to hang out and help with some of the activities.  The kids were cute wanted their picture taken and a lot were starving for a affection.  I was really happy we were able to go and help.  I hope to do more and be able to actually give testimonials, and be able to share what God has in store for me and what he's already done for me.  Well we'll see when that day will come.  Welp gotta get going just wanted to pop in again and express what I was feeling at the moment, I might come back again later.  Take care and God Bless.

21 day day Radical Experiment Tranformation

The past and current month has been a rough one.  The day after my birthday I found out one of my good friends from San Diego had died.  She was a really good friend to me, a mom of 7 children, and a child of God.  She was the person that kept me going to church and helped me keep my faith while going through some of my issues.  I know she is doing well and is at peace up in heaven.  I pray for her family to also be at peace and know she is watching down on them.

Well on lighter terms my husband and I have decided to do the radical experiment transformation.   Our Pastor decided to challenge our church to a 21 day transformation.  To do the uncommon and letting God lead the way in everything I do.  I struggle with this all the time, and I know many of us all do.  But honestly it's usually not what God wants from us.  Sunday was our start date, and my husband and I started actually on Monday.  We still haven't really committed to doing it religiously we let a lot of the worldly things still interrupt our time with God, which included using the internet, watching TV, and playing video games.  Even today as I'm writing this I was tempted with watching TV, but I stopped myself (or God, b/c the TV happened to go blank as I was trying to change channels) and continued to type.  God wants to know that I making this time for him, spreading his word about Jesus dying for our sins and that we are forgiven!!!  It's amazing to think of it that he forgives us for each time we lie about something, or whatever sin we have committed as long as we believe in him and give our lives to HIM.  I've been challenged with that for my family to forgive.  It's honestly hard to forgive but God wants us to be more like him and to use his patience and grace to handle situations.  So as we step in this 21 transformation my goals are to:

  • Pray for the entire world
  • Read through the entire word
  • Sacrifice my money for a specific purpose
  • Spend your time in another context
  • Commit your life to the church
We started reading in the book of John on Monday, and we hope to return to being committed as we first started.  Wish us luck and I'll keep you updated in God's Glory!

Take care and God bless.

Finally did it :)

So yesterday I finally used my sewing machine, though I know I said I was going to do it about two weeks ago.  Haha that procrastination really works ;).  Well as I said I used it, but pretty much I used it to set up and try to relearn how to thread the machine.  Sad.  I will get back into it again.  On top of trying to get it together Gabby craweled right on it while I was still trying to thread it so it discouraged me more.

Well I did my event at the Gansevoort Hotel on Miami Beach.  It was an awesome an experience.  Great food, great music, great people, and great clothes.  I worked with a great promo/fashion model Florentina.  She was really great to work with, seemed like we known eachother for years.  We handed out Smart Water for our promo at our little bar.
Definitly would love to do another promo like this again.  I also got to see Kendra from "The Girls Next Door"  She is so cute.  I was really mad that she didn't make it to our booth and come to find out she was supposed to.
Well so far no other events coming up, hopefully soon though, need some moolah.  Welp I'll be back next time A QUARTER OF A CENTURY years old, oh me oh my.

List of things to do 2day

The day I decide to start cleaning, and have a list to do I want to blog.  Probably after a night of skimming through 100s of blogs.  (Not exactly, but a lot)  I really want to make my blogs a regular daily log of my day.  I hope that this will help me keep track of my daily duties as a mom and make sure I follow up on what I say I'm going to do.

  • So first thing I have to clean up the closet in our room so that I can set up shop for my sewing machine.  Mind you that my husband bought me this machine during black Friday!!! I feel so bad that I haven't opened it and used it.  Main reason for not doing this has been my love for procrastination.  Yes I know the sentence doesn't really make sense.  But it makes all the sense to me =).
  • Put laundry away.
  • Put together sewing machine, and come up with what I will create!
Small list for today.  Lets just see if I get it done....haha =/

Will be back later have a great day =)

Preparing...

Whelp this is the last week I can prepare for my husbands birthday.  Well actually I'm still not sure when we're going to celebrate because he's unsure if he's working or not.  But I'm still planning something small for him which includes a superman cake.
Yes I bought this superman cake pan!! Ha ha.  I wanted to get this last year at walmart but it was $15 bucks for it.  I thought it was too much so when I found it on eBay I just had to buy it!  Now I have to make the decision of if I'm going to make the cake or go to a bakery and have them do it.  I'm so indecisive on what I want to do.  I'm actually thinking about not even using the pan, for I had looked up superman cakes and saw other designs that I'm interested in doing.  I wish I had never done that.   Well I'll keep y'all posted on what the out come is.

It's been a long couple of months!!

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted.  Been so busy taking care of the family, and trying to squeeze in some modeling work.  Recently I did the hair show @ the Fountainbleu on Miami Beach, both my husband and I had to work so Gabby got to hang out with the grandparents.  It was an awesome event met some really nice people and finally experienced a hair show.

We recently celebrated fathers day at the Supercon for my husband.  I've never seen him so happy in my life.  He was like a kid enjoying his first day at an amusmant park or something in that nature.  As you can see in all the images, he's smiling really big!!   It's so interesting to see all these people so excited for their favorite characters.  It's awesome to think many have been planning for a year for this day since it's once a year.  When I used to live in San Diego, the Comic Con was the big event, everyone dressed in costume.  At first I thought it was pretty weird, but since I went to the SuperCon I really enjoyed it.  I'd really like to do an event at the comic con this year, I've applied to some requests but so far no responses :(  We'll see I'm going to keep trying ;).

Well gotta get going, got to tend to the little one.  She's everywhere now, climbing out of her walker, jumping off the bed, and she's only 8 months!!  I"m scared for when she starts walking!!!.  Well take care everyone God Bless.

She sleeps like an angel...but I don't....

So it's me, Gabby, and my husband, in that order from the right side of the bed. I like to curl up or stretch out. Gabby likes to toss and turn, slap me at times. And Tony goes back and forth tossing and turning. But when Gabby's sleeping by herself in the middle of the bed she sleeps like a dear angel!!! I don't understand. She gets the most room in the middle, or sometimes on the edge, but she has to toss and turn @_@ I'm watching her nap now and she's still as can be @_@.

Laughs, Giggles, and Emotions

Experiencing the first laughs and giggles is an amazing feeling. I know my husband felt the same way as I felt when Gabby started to giggle. I honestly never realized how amazing it would be to experience these first emotions with my child. To wake up to a human being who is depending on me for food, to be changed, love, and all that comes with being a parent. I am amazed at how amazing each little thing can send butterflies to your stomach. My husband and I are truly blessed with our amazing Gabby. We love her so much.

~Serena
(Yesterday January 11, 2010 was the first time Gabby giggled and I just had to type this blog to get it off my chest. I will hopefully be able to continue/update more often soon.)
